Priya Papad Combo Pack 6

If you've ever cooked for a pooja, you know it's not just one dish. There’s rice, chutneys, sweets, savouries and a whole lot of preparation happening in the kitchen. Making pulihora from scratch adds a few more steps to the list. That's where pulihora paste comes in handy. Mix it with cooked rice, give it a good stir, and your pulihora is ready for the festive spread. And once you see how easy it is, you may want to make it on regular days too. Why Is Pulihora a Favourite for Poojas and Festivals? Pulihora, also known as tamarind rice, is a familiar part of many South Indian festive meals and pooja offerings. Tamarind gives it its signature tang, while chillies, lentils and spices bring in the flavour. It is also easy to prepare in larger quantities, making it a practical choice when you're cooking for family or guests. Pulihora Paste Uses and Benefits Pulihora paste is most commonly used to prepare tamarind rice, but it can be handy well beyond poojas and festivals. You can use it to: Prepare pulihora as prasad for a pooja or festival Turn plain cooked rice into a quick lunch or dinner Make use of leftover rice when you want something more flavourful Put together an easy rice dish for family meals The main benefit is convenience. Instead of preparing the tamarind mixture, tempering and spices separately, the base is already prepared for you. Just add the paste to cooked rice, mix well and adjust the quantity according to how tangy or spicy you like your pulihora. What Are the Pulihora Paste Ingredients? Tamarind is at the heart of pulihora, but there is plenty more going into that familiar flavour. Chillies, lentils, mustard seeds and spices all have a part to play. Priya Foods' Instant Pulihora Paste contains tamarind extract, green chillies, dry red chillies, black gram, Bengal gram, mustard seeds, turmeric, curry leaves and asafoetida, along with oil, salt and sugar. The exact pulihora paste ingredients can vary by product, so check the label for complete ingredient and allergen information. How To Make Prasad Pulihora With Pulihora Paste Once the rice is cooked, the rest is quite simple. Allow the cooked rice to cool slightly and make sure the grains stay separate. Add the recommended quantity of pulihora paste to the rice. Mix gently until the paste is evenly spread through the rice. Taste and add a little more paste if you prefer a tangier or spicier flavour. Leave the pulihora for a few minutes before serving so the flavours can blend. If you're making it for a pooja, follow your family's usual traditions for preparing and offering prasad. A Few Tips for Better Pulihora Start with rice that isn't too soft and let it cool a little before mixing. This makes it easier to combine the paste without breaking the grains. Don't add all the paste at once either. Start with the recommended quantity, mix and taste. You can always add a little more. Finally, give the finished pulihora some time to sit before serving. The flavour spreads through the rice and tastes more balanced. Can Pulihora Paste Be Used Beyond Prasad? Pulihora is often associated with temples, poojas and festive meals, but there’s no reason to keep it limited to special occasions. It can be part of a simple lunch, packed for a picnic or served alongside other dishes when you have guests at home. You can also make a small batch when you have leftover rice and want to give it a completely different flavour. In other words, pulihora can easily move from the festive thali to the everyday dining table. Why Choose Priya Foods' Instant Pulihora Paste?
