Your Priya Stories

If there is one word I would choose to describe my association with Priya that would be ‘Nostalgia’. To this day, I have fond memories of having savoury Priya mango thokku as a child. The tangy after taste of the pickle still lingers in my memory, along with the catchy jingle of the TV commercial that used to air back then. I had a habit of taking home-made dosas or idlis to school for lunch and I vividly recall my friends fighting over my ration of Priya pickle that was supposed to be the accompaniment to my lunch. Later, when I moved out of my parents’ home to a government hostel for undergraduate studies, I realized that Priya was a staple to a lot of the girls I cohabited with. For four years of Bachelor’s studies, Priya was our little piece of heaven that made the bland hostel food bearable and edible. Though over time my pickle consumption has trickled down, my association with Priya has survived. As a working professional I don’t find much time to cook. However, I take ample care to replenish at regular intervals the key ingredient in my kitchen - Ginger Garlic Paste. It was after a bit of trial and error that I realized that Priya’s Ginger Garlic Paste is the closest that I can find to the one that my mother prepares at home. The use of freshly sourced ingredients and the lack of preservatives make this product unparalleled in quality and taste. As always, Priya invokes in me the pleasant sensations of nostalgia, home and the golden days gone by.

Nostalgia

So one day I packed a little bit of PRIYA’s mango pickle in a small box and took it to school for lunch. I took 5 pieces of the mango for me and my friends and suddenly all I could think about was the pickle during class. So I sneakily opened my lunch box took out a piece and popped it in my mouth and it tasted amazinggggg. My friend was me eating and asked for some and I passed her the box and she too sneakily got under the desk and popped the delicious piece in her mouth. Till date me and my friend talk about and have a fit of giggles. Thank god we didn’t get caught red handed that day:)

Sweet Memory

Well One day after college came back tired and hungry, and there was nothing to eat except a whole lot of plain rice and some PRIA’s tomato pickle with a little bit of curd. Well I was angry that there was nothing to eat but decided to eat my rice with the pickle, I mixed the rice and curd and took small amounts of pickle along with it and bammm it was just awesome the pickle tasted sooo good that I ended up finishing half of the pickle. And while I am typing this my mouth’s watering:)

I bought Priya pickles Cut mango pickle from ratnadeep it was my first ever experience of buying pickle from a store and I was apprehensive about the taste and quality but I must say the pickle was really tasty. The product was properly packed and sealed and contained all the information on the label for a reasonable price. The pickle goes well with almost every dish. The experience was really good and is my mothers go to option and we never forgot to pick priya pickles every time we go to our nearby stores.
